Contribution to climate change: Recording, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Brazil, using data from the National GHG Inventory. The project contributes to climate transparency, monitoring the goals of the Paris Agreement and supporting public policies to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
Use of technology: SIRENE integrates national and international databases, analysis tools, periodic reports and technical publications. It uses digital resources to facilitate consultation, downloading of information and viewing of historical series of emissions by sector, source and region. It also supports the preparation and validation of official reports, such as the Biennial Transparency Report.
Application examples:
Managers and decision-makers can monitor the National GHG Inventory, which is essential for complying with Brazilian NDCs.
Technical support for public policies, sustainable investments and climate transparency actions.
Consultations by researchers, public managers, companies and civil society to support studies, projects and decision-making.
